American Valais Blacknose Sheep Flock

Valais Blacknose Sheep

They've been called "The World's Cutest Sheep" and you can see why! Bramblecroft Farm was one of the first farms in the United States to work to bring the Valais Blacknose Sheep to our country. We partnered with our friends across the pond in the UK at New Forest Valais Blacknose to bring the first flock of these amazing sheep to North America. We worked diligently for several years to learn all we could about the sheep, international regulations, overseas livestock transportation, and, of course, government bureaucracy!

Our foundation flock included 2 incredible breeding ewes, Daphne and Bridget and our first ewe lamb - Harper, born in October 2016. Daphne had our first ram lamb, Edison born in Jun 2017. Bridget had her first lambs with twins named Ellis (ram) and Eden (ewe) born in late September 2017.

Daphne gave birth to two perfectly marked ewe lambs named Flora and Fable in June 2018. We've had our ups and downs as long distance sheep farmers of these amazing sheep but were still hopeful that our beautiful animals would someday make it to our farm in the US. Since then, together with our partners we've decided to push pause on our current efforts. Between BREXIT, trade wars, COVID, and our move to Arizona, we're reevaluating our approach and deciding on the best path forward. We're so thankful for everyone we've met along this journey and look forward to sharing the next chapter with you!
